UK Horse Racing Tips: Killarney

ZOFFMAN sets a fair standard although he could certainly have done with a better draw. However, having his eighth start, the Noel Meade trained gelding might be able to put previous experience to good use by getting out and gaining a prominent position. Texas Sun kept on nicely when third at Down Royal on his debut, looking as though the extra furlong he encounters here was just what was required. Fiddlers Green made a promising debut at Gowran Park but didn't progress at Ballinrobe. His trainer should always be feared at this track. A Shine Undine has solid placed form to her name and looks like this could well be her optimum trip. Milestone Payment is an intriguing runner on her debut for Paddy Twomey.

GUNNERS DREAM caught the eye staying on late at Gowran Park on his reappearance but failed to beat a single rival at Sligo subsequently. In the belief that he just didn't handle the latter track, the Pat Martin trained gelding is put forward as an eachway selection. The longer straight at Killarney will give him plenty of time to get into gear, so expect to see him arriving late on the scene. Zaghraf had run well in sprint maidens before being the subject of a gamble in handicap company at Naas last weekend. He failed to fire on that occasion but is bred to appreciate this longer distance. Clarinbridge has been knocking on the door of late and should be involved once again.

JAAFEL is a 10-race maiden but is proven at this grade. Often held up in his races, he was a shade disappointing at Bellewstown recently but has useful form and while beaten a head by Ms Eagleton at Listowel, is now 10lb better off with that rival. Ms Eagleton, a half-sister to a Listed winner, is interesting on handicap debut from a workable 75 rating, having won her maiden at Ballinrobe, but isn't helped by her wide in 12. My Minervina has been well held in her handicap runs but won a recent Bellewstown claimer while Petticoat Rule is a ground-versatile three-time winner who ran well at Tipperary last month. Macadam's Rock was well held at Limerick but had previously run well in a Listowel handicap in June.

HARRY'S LEGACY is well-bred and can continue progressing. Out of French winning dam whose half-sister won at Group 1 level and a brother to a Listed winner, his initial form was ordinary but has entered the handicap from a low level and should prove competitive from his revised 73 rating, with trip and ground in his favour. Lynwood Gold will have the 600,000 euros Irish Cesarewitch in his sights, having finished fifth in last year's renewal, and while he could run well for Bill Lee today, does lack a recent run. Jesse Evans has Colin Keane's assistance on his first run since April but was beaten eight lengths by Monas Melody (who runs in first-time cheekpieces) here last year. Startedwithakiss disappointed on her latest run just a fortnight ago but has claims on previous form.

CHILLED OUT was well supported at Listowel last month and while well held, should improve. Beaten a long way on debut, he returned from a 217 days absence at Listowel and while the winner is rated just 77, the runner-up won easily subsequently and CHILLED OUT finished his race well, suggesting he can step forward from the run. Adonis has stronger form claims but is a seven-race maiden and carried blinkers, on his first run since being gelded, when third in a useful Curragh maiden last month. He is vulnerable to progressive types but should be competitive. Malabu Drive, by Frankel, ran well in a useful Navan maiden and while also vulnerable to smarter types, should get involved. Desert Camp is long absent while Foreign Policy is a sibling to three useful winners. All Aboard is a sibling to four winners.

ONAMERIDANCE runs in a first-time tongue-tie and can defy a 16lb hike for winning easily at Down Royal. She was seventh in a hot Naas maiden won by Tuesday in March and having stayed on over a mile here in May, she appreciated the extra distance at Down Royal and will be suited by another furlong today. A small concern is she hung left here in May and was also well held here as a juvenile. Stablemate Corky has run well on both handicap starts and can be counted upon to run a solid race while Secret Sea has also been running and has obvious place claims. Venice Biennale was tried at Listed level on her last three runs and makes her handicap debut under Colin Keane.

SAN SALVADOR makes his 247-days reappearance following a winter's break and has suitably good ground in his favour for his first flat start. A course bumper winner, he was an unlucky loser of a Tipperary Grade 3 hurdle when falling last October and being a fresh six year old with pace, can take beating under his 7lb claimer. In contrast Castlegrace Paddy is an 11 year old who makes his flat debut. He is a three-time Grade 2 winner with a chase rating of 150 but looks vulnerable to pacier types, at his age. Midnight Run is similarly national hunt through and through and while capable over jumps, also makes his flat debut on reappearance. Happy Jacky is a capable 137 rated hurdler but also debuts on the flat and might be caught for pace.
