After a 5/1 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action.
14:55 Cattrick
The Ann Duffield trained MASTER RICHARD (best priced at EVENS) won an apprentice handicap by 3 ¾ lengths last time and he should prove hard to beat off the same mark. The three-year-old has been running consistently well so far this season with form figures of 5214 including a nose 2nd over this trip of 7f at Doncaster last month.
Master Richard won easily at York last time by 3 ¾ lengths off a mark of 75 and the handicapper has raised him 8lbs for that effort. As that was an apprentice handicap, he gets to run here off the same mark which makes him 8lbs “well in” here and he should prove hard to beat with Paul Mulrennan taking over.
16:25 Brighton
The Bill Turner trained BBOB ALULA (best priced at 11/4) finished a neck 2nd at Yarmouth earlier this month and he should prove hard to beat off the same mark in this race. The seven-year-old was a previous course and distance winner in April off a mark of 50 before finishing a neck 2nd over the same course and distance in May off a mark of 54.
Bbob Alula ran well to finish only a neck behind Habanero Star last time at Yarmouth off a mark of 55 which the handicapper has raised him 3lbs for. He gets to run here off his previous mark of 55 which makes him 3lbs “well in” at the weights and I expect him to prove hard to beat under Luke Morris.
18:50 Yarmouth
Hollie Doyle has a good record on STAR OF ST LOUIS (best priced at 9/4) and they pair up again in this race. The Denis Quinn trained five-year-old has been in consistently good form this season with form figures of 552221 including a course and distance victory earlier this month. That win came off a mark of 48 and the handicapper has generously only raised the gelding 2lbs for that.
Star Of Louis actually drops in class from a 0-55 handicap into a 0-50 handicap off top weight and I expect him to prove hard to beat with Hollie Doyle retaining the ride.
