GOING GONE produced a career-best performance when fourth in the Ascot Stakes last month and that form looks even stronger now with the winner, Coltrane, since bolting up in Listed company at Sandown. Jim Boyle's charge is just 2lb higher now cutting back in distance and he looks sure to mount a bold bid. Rock Eagle was four-and-a-half lengths behind the selection in that Royal Ascot contest but he could close the gap here, while Diamond Bay and Reshoun also warrant respect.

With several prospects easy to make a case for, preference is for the grade-dropping CHIL CHIL. Andrew Balding's sole charge was only three-quarters of a length behind Emaraaty Ana in the Sprint Cup at Haydock last September and, despite the fact she is returning from a break, she has proven to run well fresh in the past and should not be easily dismissed. Rohaan seems an obvious threat following his win in the Wokingham at Ascot last month, along with Dubawi Legend in first time cheekpieces.

This could be the perfect opportunity for MARIA BRANWELL to bounce back to winning form. She was denied a treble in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Ascot last month, but still recorded a good third behind Dramatised and Maylandsea. She previously won a Listed race at Sandown over 5f despite not having a clear run and commands respect once more. It wouldn't be surprising to see Rogue Spirit close behind her, along with Eddie's Boy down in class.

This could go the way of JULIA AUGUSTA, who seeks to extend her unbeaten record on her first run in handicap company. She stayed on by five lengths to win on her latest outing at Thirsk and could have a say in proceedings once more. Stunning Beauty is feared ahead on the back of some useful handicap efforts, while State Occasion is entitled to improve following a good run at Ascot.
