Similar comments apply to Divina Grace, who was no match for a well-fancied Godolphin-owned filly over C&D, while Lady D'ascoyne could appreciate the quicker ground. Puntarelle showed distinct improvement from first to second start at Newbury and is likely to enter the reckoning as well.

Narrowly denied on two of her last three outings, KODIAS SANGARIUS deserves a change in luck and she might just get it with William Buick taking over in the saddle for the first time. She gets the vote ahead of the rejuvenated Fighting Temeraire, who was a comfortable winner at Nottingham, and The Green Man, who ran a career best when beaten a neck at Leicester.

The verdict is for KOY KOY, who wasn't disgraced in the Britannia at Royal Ascot and looks very interesting on his first start for the George Boughey yard. The son of Acclamation could still be well treated off a mark of 93 and his biggest danger may come from authoritative Hamilton winner Austrian Theory, who needs to prove that success was no fluke. Bass Player is another to note on his handicap debut.

MUKADDAMAH put in a career-best effort when finishing fourth in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot a month ago and the daughter of New Approach could be hard to beat if reproducing that level of form today. Eternal Pearl has already been placed at this level and she has to be of some interest today having got off the mark last time. Technique has to prove that she stays this far but it would be no surprise to see her go very well.

CHARGING THUNDER accounted for Throne Hall when scoring at Ayr earlier in the month and even a 4lb swing in the weights may not be enough to reverse that form today. That said, Throne Hall had run well at York prior to that and could get closer this time. Cogital is another recent winner who is likely to go well in an open event.

Auditor won well here last time and has every chance despite a 5lb rise, while Cabinet Of Clowns and Outrun The Storm have claims on the back of runner-up efforts, but preference is for NATURAL PATH.
