I think it may pay to side with experience here and I like what I’ve seen from STAR PLAYER for Simon and Ed Crisford. He never landed a blow on debut finishing way down the field but he took a sizeable step forward to finish third at Epsom last time. He was sent off at 50/1 that day but showed plenty. The winner Benacre looks a nice type and the second Self Praise has already franked the form winning at Chester yesterday. He can improve again and if he does I think he sets a pretty strong standard for the debutants to try and reach. Roaring Lion colt Dubai Mile looks the most interesting of them for Mark Johnston so I’ll be keeping my eye on him in the prelims. Out Of Shadows made a winning debut despite being slowly away so he also has to be feared especially with Benoit De La Sayette booked for the ride. Expert Eye colt Optician is another one that can do better but might need more time and experience.
