There are a number of nicely bred newcomers in opposition including Apricot Twist, who fetched 140,000 guineas as a yearling and is out of the Listed winner Erysimum. Grace Darling is by Kingman out of Stormfly who won the Group 3 1,000 Guineas Trial for Dermot Weld, while Arancha is another to note for Jim Bolger. Rochester Mike is by Wooton Bassett out of a Listed placed winner in France and cost 52,000 recently at the Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale.

CLARA'S APPROACH showed her liking for this C&D when successful last summer and has returned in good form this season with a number of solid efforts including when runner-up also over C&D. The selection appears to have a preference for a little ease in the ground so any rain would be appreciated while blinkers are now fitted instead of cheek pieces. Some rain would also boost the prospects of Shawaamekh who made a great start for current connections when scoring at Cork and there was also cut in the ground when he was a creditable third to Coumshingaun over this trip at the Curragh last time. Sister Lola holds Dandyville on running behind Ampeson at Fairyhouse recently, while Super Cub and Gordon Bennett are others to consider in a competitive event.

SACRED BRIDGE won twice over this C&D last year including the valuable Ballyhane Stakes. The Ger Lyons-trained filly has returned in good form beating Ladies Church in the Listed Polonia Stakes at Cork and that form received a big boost at the weekend. She ran too keenly in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last month and this represents a big drop in class. Ano Syra has proved a great servant to connections this term and gained the latest of four wins this campaign when landing the Rockingham Handicap at the Curragh. Contarelli Chapel looked a potential superstar when highly impressive on debut over this C&D early last year but has disappointed in just two outings since. Sablonne has gained both her wins over this C&D and had to be tough to outpoint Andreas Vesalius last month.

MAUIEWOWIE was well-supported on debut over C&D earlier this month and justified the confidence by scoring in good style. Ger Lyons spoke in glowing terms afterwards suggesting she could be aimed at something like the Cheveley Park Stakes later in the season and the daughter of Night Of Thunder is taken to follow up here. Ardad's Great has stepped forward with each run and was just denied last time by Wodao in a Listed race at Tipperary. Riding arrangements suggest she is preferred to Funny Money Honey who was far from disgraced in the Queen Mark at Royal Ascot. Lady Tilbury, a dual winner this term at Cork and Tipperary, ran with the choke out in the Queen Mark but still ran with credit in mid-division. Treasure Trove is already Listed placed behind Blackbeard at the Curragh and took advantage of a drop in class to score in good style at Down Royal last month.

TASHIM is not the most consistent of geldings but was a big eyecatcher when reappearing off a career low mark of 54 at Gowran Park last month. Paul Flynn's charge was heavily backed and unlucky not to collect as he didn't enjoy a clear run in the straight before flashing home to get within a head of Angel's Trumpet. Shimla Rolann was just half-a-length away in third but has since been well beaten at Leopardstown. This looks a good trip for International Lady. She won twice early last year including over a mile at Dundalk and appeared to find an extra furlong just too far when still putting in a creditable effort on her reappearance at Leopardstown earlier this month. Philly's Hope and Barnhill Rose are closely matched on running behind Sod's Law at Bellewstown.

Belle Image is the class act here having finished fourth in the Irish 1,000 Guineas last term and was also beaten less than two lengths behind Mother Earth in the Group 1 Prix Rothschild at Deauville. However both those efforts came with plenty of cut in the ground and she has questions to answer after failing to sparkle on her only start this year at the Curragh in April. MUTASARREF joined Ger Lyons this year and has won twice over this trip at Leopardstown and the Curragh. In-between he also shaped well in valuable handicaps and is certainly on an upward curve. San Andreas has been generally consistent this year but lost his chance at the start in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot.

The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding progressed really well winning six times last year and made a very pleasing return to action over this trip at Fairyhouse earlier this month. The selection didn't enjoy the clearest of passages in the straight but kept on well to beat all bar Lexington Dash. Cian MacRedmond again claims a valuable 5lb. Punk Poet and Ice Cold In Alex are both very consistent over this trip and should again be thereabouts, while Midnight Fire finished well to land a 23-runner Curragh handicap over six back in May. Varying tactics have been adopted with Rick Dalton this year and he remains of interest dropping back in trip with the prospect of further improvement.
