I thought JUDITH was a very impressive winner on her debut at Ascot. She travelled like a dream and showed plenty of gears to readily reel in her stablemate Wonderful Times who had the benefit of a run under her belt. That form has worked out well since with the fourth Perfect Alibi winning twice at Newbury. She then improved to follow up at Newmarket again moving into it stylishly before putting it to bed in good style. The second Al Nafir looks a nice prospect too with some good form to his name. She steps up to Listed level now so will likely need more but I can see her improving for a while yet and I have her down as one to keep on the right side for sure. Achelois ran a cracker in the John Smith’s Cup over C&D last time and looks a danger off the back of that. Poptronic also deserves a mention chasing a four-timer but she’ll need to settle.

I think Archie Watson has found a good opportunity for AMOR DE MI VIDA to make it three wins from her last four starts. She clocked a career-best lengthening nicely in the closing stages to win at Haydock last time and turned out quickly under a 5lb penalty I’ll be disappointed if she can’t go in again with this field looking pretty exposed. Rhubarb also arrives in a rich vein of form having won her last 2 but a further 5lb rise leaves her on a career-high mark now so this will definitely test her credentials. Coronation Cottage has ground to make up with the latter but does get a swing in the weights so might be able to reverse that. I still think she’ll be vulnerable to the selection though who might always have her covered. Of the rest Pop Dancer was beaten less than a length at Bath last time and that was a good run but his losing run is up to 16 now.
