Following an eye-catching run in the Platinum Jubilee SACRED is a really strong selection to make it a perfect 3-3 over 7f. This filly ran out an impressive winner of the Group 2 Hungerford at Newbury and was only beaten a length at the top level at Royal Ascot last month. She just had too much to do on that occasion and was hitting top stride as the line came. She moves back up a furlong in trip now and this definitely looks her optimum. Her only other run over this trip saw her beat Saffron Beach in the Nell Gwyn and we know how good that filly is now. Her form stacks up wherever you look and I’m expecting her to take all the beating. Lusail has won twice at this level and ran a cracker to get within a head of Coroebus in the St James’s Palace before going close at the top level in France last time. 3yos don’t have a great record in this but he still looks the danger.

I still think there is more to come from CHARLIE’S YARD especially over a mile and a half. He looked a horse well ahead of his mark winning on handicap debut at Kempton back in May and confirmed the promise following up at Bath over a mile and three quarters. He has been beaten 3 times since but likely did too much off the front at Kempton in June and that form has worked out well since with the winner Gyenyame going in again next time out. I’m not sure Wolverhampton suited next time and then he was back to form going down narrowly at Bath. He has more to come on turf and this trip might turn out to be his optimum. The cheekpieces go back on and Ben Curtis gets the leg up which are all positives. Valley Of Flowers could be the danger but she needs to build on that reappearance run. Foreshadow is also respected but he still remains a maiden somehow.
