BELTANE produced a much-improved display over 6f at Haydock earlier this month following recent wind surgery, finishing a good third. He could have more to offer back at 7f and, in a wide-open contest, he receives a tentative vote. Starshiba has been narrowly denied on each of his two latest starts and he ought to go well down in class, along with Obee Jo, who has dropped 2lb below his last winning mark. Spacer shouldn't be underestimated either.

Noble Anthem may prove popular here, but he is worse off with Glasses Up on recent form and the cheekpieces will need to spark improvement for him to confirm that now. He won at Doncaster off 1lb lower and if his recent gelding operation gets him back to that level, he has every chance.

Both are expected to go well, but SUNSET GLOW gets the nod on the basis that he should still be improving and ran a cracker for the silver medal off this mark at Hamilton two starts ago.
