Mysterious Night may improve for the step up in trip and could mount a bold bid.

Three-year-olds do not have the best record in this contest, but LUSAIL may be able to buck the trend if he can repeat his St James's Palace form, when he finished a head second to 2000 Guineas winner Coroebus. He deserves his first victory of the season and may prove too good for Platinum Jubilee fifth Sacred, with Happy Power a lively each-way alternative having finished a close-up third to Kinross in this race last year.

Trueshan will be difficult to oppose if ground conditions deteriorate, but with that far from certain, the vote goes to KYPRIOS. The son of Galileo was a game winner of the Gold Cup, where he had an arguably unfortunate Stradivarius in behind. The Gosdens' star stayer has lifted this prize four times and may finish closer to his Ascot conqueror, granted more luck in running. Coltrane took another step forward when bolting up to claim Listed honours at Sandown and is another to consider.

Plenty with chances here, but EQUALITY shaped better than the bare result at Ascot last time, and off 2lb lower today, Charlie Hills' sprinter should go close. Celsius goes for the hat-trick and although he is 5lb higher than for his latest Newmarket success, he can't be ruled out in his current form. Lord Riddiford is now 1lb lower than for his last triumph, which came in this contest 12 months ago, and is fully capable of making the frame.

In this fascinating contest preference is for MISCHIEF MAGIC, who gave a good account to finish third over course and distance on his first racecourse outing. That race has been handsomely advertised and he can get off the mark at the second time of asking. Supreme King and Master Of Chant only found one rival too strong on their respective debuts and may be able to take a step forward.

CRYSTAL CAPRICE got off the mark in impressive fashion at Yarmouth on her third outing earlier in the month and the daughter of Frankel makes plenty of appeal on her handicap debut. Breaking Light took a big step forward when scoring at Haydock and a 5lb rise is unlikely to stop her from being competitive. System was just denied when upped to a mile at Ascot and she is capable of being in the mix along with Flash Betty, who is of interest dropping in grade.

Having won over this distance on her first two appearances, she perhaps failed to stay 7f at Newmarket earlier this month, though she wasn't disgraced in third. William Haggas' charge remains on the same mark and could be set for a return to winning ways. Crazy Luck ought to throw down a stern challenge in her hat-trick bid. Others to consider are Kimngrace, Makarova and Lovely Breeze.
