He pulled impressively clear on his racecourse debut at Haydock earlier this month and, even though he has to shoulder a penalty, Harry Davies takes off 5lb so the Profitable colt could well extend his winning record in this. Captain Cuddles has shown plenty in two starts, while Zu Run seems the most interesting newcomer.

This could go the way of AMARETTI VIRGINIA, who was not disgraced on her most recent outing at Sandown over 5f. She kept on during her racecourse debut at Lingfield over the same trip, so a step up in distance could work in her favour based on that. Vermilion is an interesting newcomer and must be feared for an in-form stable, while Mehme looks the pick of the remainder.

Royal Commando is best in at these weights on official ratings, but with the Charles Hills yard having a quiet spell it seems safer to side with RUN TO FREEDOM. A winner at Windsor in a Listed race in May, he was sent off at odds of 100/1 in the Group 1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot before finishing 10th when far from disgraced. He could return to winning ways here, leaving Fivethousandtoone to follow them home in first-time cheekpieces.

SONGO has been sent off favourite on all four starts this season, winning twice and placed twice, including when second over C&D last time. He has been put up a further 2lb, but is the in-form option. Infrastructure hasn't been seen since 2020, but was only beaten a length when third off 3lb higher at Chester last time and he could go close. Ravens Ark is suited to this trip and might also get involved.

Sir Joseph Swan represents the stable that won division one of this race in 2021 and arrives in good form after a three-length second at Bath over this trip. He can go well again, but ARCADIAN FRIEND won as he pleased at Lingfield and carries a 6lb penalty for that success. Due to go up an additional 5lb for future races, he is well-in here and hard to oppose. Master Grey, a dual C&D winner, might follow them home.
