After winning his first two starts William Knight clearly felt CHECKANDCHALLENGE was worth pitching into the deep end to run him in the Guineas. He was held up that day but could never land a blow and finished right out the back. He was given time after and bounced back with a big run on handicap debut at Sandown at the start of the month. He stayed on really well in the closing stages and was beaten less than a length. He will come on again for that and while this is no easy task he clearly still possesses plenty of potential. Bayside Boy is proven at a better level than this having won a Group 2 at Doncaster so clearly has to be feared dropping into this company but he has a bit to prove following two mediocre runs. Berkshire Shadow may pose a greater threat as that third behind Mighty Ulysses is working out really well and looks red-hot form.

I loved the way CABINET MAKER came sweeping through to follow up his Kempton win at Chelmsford last time. He showed a nice turn of foot to pick them up and ultimately looked a cut above. I think it’s significant connections have opted to turn him out quickly under a 6lb penalty and there should be more to come so he gets a confident vote to complete the hat-trick. His chance would be aided further if they go a good gallop so hopefully Inexplicable goes forward and even potentially Wurlitzer. Zoom Zoom Babe has been mega consistent recently having finished second at Ffos Las and Lingfield and could be the danger on debut for Tom Dascombe. Power On has won at this track before and is better than what he showed at Lingfield last time. If he gets back to the form that saw him go close at Yarmouth he might also be in the mix here.
