Endeared is the one being backed for this at the time of writing and he has to be respected given he finished with running left at Doncaster. He did still look inexperienced though and this tight track might catch him out somewhat. I prefer the chances of PERFECT PLAY for Mark Johnston. This colt was well down the field behind subsequent Coventry winner Bradsell in a red-hot novice race at York on debut in the spring. He left that behind to go close at Ayr last time and clocked a decent speed figure in the process. He will be sharper again now and under likely aggressive tactics if Buick gets the fractions right he might not come back to them. Endeared is still the danger given the potential he brings to the table but Frankness also deserves a mention. This Frankel filly was a promising third on debut at Newmarket and if she improves she won’t be far away either.

The well bred KARAOKE looks to have a great chance to make the breakthrough at Galway on Sunday. This filly by Acclamation ran a huge race on debut going down just half a length at Gowran earlier this month and with natural improvement should take a bit of beating here under Declan McMonagle. In hindsight she probably came with her challenge too soon last time and now she knows how to race she should be able to get the job done. She’s Local showed promise on debut at Naas and stepped forward from that to finish fourth at Leopardstown. With more to come she looks most likely to give the selection something to think about. Red Letter Bray only backed out of it late on at Naas and if this doesn’t come too soon he might also have a say in the finish as he looks to have a bright future. Wild Rover best of the rest as he’ll like this step up in trip.
