He has to be respected here but hasn't been well treated in stall nine, so HAVE SECRET is preferred. Richard Fahey's charge put in arguably his best effort to date when third over an extended 7f at Beverley and caught the eye when finishing fast over 6f at Pontefract latest. Midnight Flame and Chuck Taylor are others to note.

ENDEARED overcame a slow start and distinct signs of greenness to finish third over this trip on his debut at Doncaster and was beaten just a head over a furlong shorter there last time. James Fanshawe's charge gets the vote to go one better in this. Perfect Play was a close-up second at Ayr last time and looks the main danger, ahead of the improving Utilis and Frankness, who went close on debut at Newmarket.

Ebro River won the Phoenix Stakes last year but his three efforts so far this term have been below that level. He drops slightly in class for this and is fitted with blinkers to sharpen him up, but WINGS OF WAR is preferred. Clive Cox's colt was a fair third in a Group 3 in France earlier this month and last year's Mill Reef winner looks capable of landing this Listed prize. Newcastle third Bielsa and recent course second Princess Shabnam also have claims.

Yanifer arrives here in search of a hat-trick, with the most recent of his victories coming at this venue, and he should not be underestimated. Artaois remains unexposed and has to be of some interest, while Fools Rush In completes the shortlist.

A case can be made for all of these but the vote goes to ROGUE SPIRIT, who arrives here having made the frame in the Super Sprint at Newbury and stall two should help this fast son of Dark Angel. Zealandia may be the best of them if he improves after winning on his first start since being gelded, though Heart Of Soul is also considered dropped in grade. However, both may struggle to cope with SPEAK, who ran well when a neck second at Goodwood in a better race in May and she can go close off just 2lb higher.
