UK Horse Racing Tips: Sligo

James McAuley's orange silks are often the first place to look in these claimers and ALHAAJEB has solid form credentials. A dual handicap winner this year, the four-year-old makes his first appearance for the yard after finishing third in a similar contest at Ballinrobe where he had three of these behind. Aleksey Tolstoy was only a couple of lengths behind the selection and will appreciate the extra furlong. The third McAuley runner Eastern Racer didn't fire at Ballinrobe but his previous second at Killarney brings him into the equation although he's not sure to stay. Bringsty has not been one of Ado McGuinness' most successful purchases from Britain but didn't run too badly in a Dundalk handicap that has worked out well and might be able to get involved. Likewise Jaafel, not disgraced in mid-division at Galway, should be competitive at this level. Lily Of The Glen, touched off in a Gowran handicap, has a bit to find but comes here in form.

YOUR HONOR has been gradually getting the hang of things in handicaps after being gelded earlier in the year and his third against older rivals at Ballinrobe was a good effort. Dropping back a couple of furlongs is probably not ideal for the Lawman gelding who shapes like a stayer but a similarly positive ride should see him go close and he'll relish the final climb here. Butterfly Garden has run three solid races in handicaps and has twice found only one too good. She's up 7lb in total but Scott McCullagh's claim negates most of that and she'll have plenty of supporters. Yokkell wasn't far behind Butterfly Garden when fourth at Killarney and now meets her on the same terms after another good effort at Cork where she was beaten only a length. She wouldn't need to improve much to make the breakthrough.

The form of Bay Of Bengal's Curragh win was handsomely advertised at Galway with the runner-up landing the big mile handicap and the third making the frame in another premier handicap. The lightly-raced four-year-old is only 4lb higher and is open to more improvement. Preference, though, is for the lightly-weighted HEATHER BEAR who is on a four-timer. An uncomplicated type who can be ridden close to the pace if required, she's up 6lb for her Ballinrobe victory but is the type who just does enough and can take another step up the ladder. Dark Vega had been shaping as if she wanted to go further and duly improved when trying 1m2f for the first time at Roscommon. She's been left on the same mark for finishing third in a competitive contest against colts and the fourth boosted the form at Galway on Sunday.

QUEEN OF OURS ticks a lot of boxes. The rain is due to move into Sligo and she was placed on yielding to soft, soft in places ground at Naas on debut last month. The winner of that contest has since been Listed placed. Queen Of Ours then chased home a filly with big-race entries at Cork. She has the best draw in stall one. Reinforce was half a length behind Queen Of Ours in third at Cork and they race off the same weights here. He has been third in his last three starts, however, he wasn't at his best when unplaced on debut at Naas on rain-softened ground. She's Local was well behind Queen Of Ours in fifth at Naas, but did show improvement in fourth at Leopardstown. Autumnal Breeze ran well in fourth when 125/1 at Cork.

OOH LA BELLE hasn't built upon her promising fifth place on debut at Listowel, but there is still time. She went into plenty of notebooks after that never nearer fifth over an extended 6f in Co Kerry. The James Garfield filly then stepped up to 7f in Limerick, but suffered a less than clear route before finishing fifth. It is worth noting that the form of that race is working out very well. She didn't cut much ice on her last start at Naas, but should have an impact in this company. Slick Chick gets first-time cheekpieces and has shown some promise in two of her three runs. Camilla Gherardini didn't run badly in fourth at the Curragh and has claims.

EVER ROCK appears to be ideally drawn, just one off the rail, on a track that suits prominent racers such as herself. Making most when winning at Fairyhouse in May, the James Lambe-trained mare had previously run a fine race when third at this venue. Danny Gilligan is sure to have her out smartly in order to take full advantage of her low berth. Gegenpressing is arguably the form horse in the field, having shaped with promise in stronger contests of late. However, given his hold-up running style, he will need the gaps to open at the right time if he is to get involved. Lion Ring is very well handicapped on the best of his runs and hinted that he may be returning to form when third at Down Royal. Talking Tough and Hands Down merit respect as previous course winners.

BEER WITH THE BOYS has a leading chance of following up his recent Ballinrobe success. Smartly away from his wide draw under Dylan Browne McMonagle, the Charlie Moore-trained seven-year-old kept on strongly close home. With a better draw on this occasion, he won't need to use up as much energy early on, leaving something in the tank for the uphill climb. Course winner Gracesolution bids for a hat-trick, having followed up at Killarney last time. However, the handicapper has hit her hard, so it will take a career best from the Ross O'Sullivan-trained mare. Barometer, who was runner-up in the aforementioned Killarney race, has every chance of turning the tables at these revised weights. The locally-trained Fassbender won over hurdles recently and is well treated back on the Flat.
