With 2 wins from her last 3 the progressive PINK CRYSTAL looks well placed to continue to defy the assessor. That was a career best at Thirsk last time where she was briefly denied a run before switching left and running on readily to win with a bit in hand. She has gone up 6lb but this big field with a good pace to aim at should suit and she is hard to oppose once more. Haggas continues to fire in the winners with a near 30% strike rate in the past fortnight so that has to be another positive. Marquand is back in the saddle and she ticks plenty of boxes. Michaels Choice has won at this track before and won nicely at Salisbury last month. He looks the main danger 4lb higher now. Recon Mission dug deep to prevail at Sandown last time and is a talented sprinter when he puts it all in but he is by no means a certainty to back that up. Impeach also has a squeak on that form.

Great chance for Night Of Thunder filly DREAMS OF THUNDER to return to winning ways at Haydock on Friday. She made a winning start for this yard going away at the finish at Nottingham on reappearance. She was denied just a neck at Goodwood last time and while it was a little disappointing at the time not to follow up that form has turned out to be really solid with the third Adaay In Asia winning her next two at Chepstow and Goodwood. The latter was a fiercely competitive handicap so that definitely franks the form. She definitely has potential to do better and I’ll be disappointed if she doesn’t win this. True Jem was back on track when third at Newmarket and looms as the danger. Zim Baby has clocked some decent speed figures but she has proved a little disappointing recently albeit she is back against her own sex here. Fox Hill best of the rest but she is turning out to be a little tricky recently.
