A 2lb rise may underestimate his ability and the Ed Dunlop-trained three-year-old gets the nod to shed the maiden tag now dropping back in trip. Costa Adeje must be respected after an encouraging effort at Yarmouth, while Alwajd is another to consider.

RUNNING LION contested a good maiden her racecourse debut and the half-sister to Group 3 winner Majestic Glory gave a good account when fourth at Newmarket's July Festival. She hit the line with plenty of conviction and may be able to get off the mark at the second time of asking. The debutants to keep an eye on include Andrew Balding's Le Havre filly Therapist and the Ralph Beckett-trained Mildyjama.

Marginal preference is for ROYAL MARINER, who showed a smart turn of foot to see off his main challenger by a length over C&D last month. There was five lengths back to the third and James Tate's colt can defy a 5lb rise in this contest. Girlswannahavefun got off the mark at Leicester and rates the most immediate danger off 7lb higher, while Jumra is another to consider.

Melodramatica struck over C&D but having been raised 3lb for that neck success, she may be vulnerable to some better treated rivals and slight preference is for MR STANLEY. Richard Hannon's three-year-old was beaten just a short head after attempting to make all in a Leicester maiden and looks primed to run another big race. Ford Madox Brown was collared late on over 7f at Chelmsford and must also be respected.

ICONIC KNIGHT was successful over 7f at Chepstow and although Tony Carroll's seven-year-old stayed on well, this step down to 6f is unlikely to pose a problem and a 5lb rise may not be enough to stop him following up either. Come On Girl ran a good race over C&D when beaten just three-quarters of a length and a repeat of that would see her go close. Main Target heads the remainder.

OPEN CHAMPION ran a pleasing race when second over 1m4f at Newmarket and this appears to be a good opportunity for him to shed his maiden tag. Roger Varian's charge and Makfoul have taken on Temporize, who finished in front of both, by a length and a quarter and two and a quarter lengths respectively, so there may not be a great deal between the pair at the line. Treble Joy is another to note.

SHIBUYA SONG made light work of her rivals at Newbury when winning by three lengths. Ed Walker's filly remains unexposed over staying distances and despite a 5lb rise, she could take all the beating once again. Moonlit Warrior makes some appeal based on her Sandown defeat to Mostly Cloudy (now rated 93) in June, while Buxted Reel ought to remain competitive down in class.
