This looks a straight shootout between the top 2 in the betting for me and the one I really like is AL AGAILA for Simon and Ed Crisford. This filly by Lope De Vega caught the eye initially running on well for third behind Whitebeam at Newbury. That race has obviously worked out really well with the winner going on to make a winning handicap debut making it a hat-trick of wins at Haydock over the weekend. Crystal Caprice who could only finish sixth has won her next two impressively for Stoute. She then improved to go down just a length to Postmark at Ffos Las. I had the winner in my tracker and I noted it down as strong form which has been confirmed since with the third Caph Star winning next time out. She’ll improve again and I think she can edge out Sea Tsarina who still has a bright future despite that Newmarket defeat last time.
20:15 Chelmsford City
Sir Mark Prescott has gone a little quiet after that flurry of winners but he looks to have an improver running at Chelmsford on Tuesday in the shape of SNAP AMBUSH. This filly by Almanzor showed promise in 3 starts as a 2yo and probably ran as well as could have been expected at Leicester. She still looked to be learning her trade that day slowly into stride before keeping on well in the closing stages. She is off the same mark and I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t prove to have a bit in hand. The winner Playday has been beaten since but that was in a competitive handicap at Haydock so that doesn’t bother me too much. Asraabb brings potential to the table as well for Roger Varian and might emerge as the danger on handicap debut. Capla Blue managed to get up and win by a nose at Yarmouth so might not be far away either.
