I knew the bookies wouldn’t take much chance with this but even at 7/2 I’m going to have to play. BASTILLE ran on really well at Newcastle last time. He was no match for the winner Rocket Rod but once he had flown I loved the late work he put in. The speed figure he clocked there is better than anything in this field has produced and so this represents a really good opportunity for him to finally get his head in front. He is off the same mark back on turf and for me he looks sure to go close. Hollis Brown was a good second to the right horse at Ayr last time and with Linda Perratt among the winners he has to be feared in opposition. Western Melody badly disappointed on handicap debut at Thirsk but might show up better here so could turn out to be best of the rest. Mister Charlie could take a step forward on handicap debut so would need a market check as well.
