I’ve been a big fan of GREG THE GREAT and I’m not about to abandon him yet. I thought he was a shade lucky to be given the verdict in the stewards room at Chepstow but even still that was a progressive run again and he has now won 3 of his last 4. The horse that was demoted Fitzrovia has since run a big race to finish second in a competitive handicap at Ffos Las. The fourth King Of War who was beaten over 13 lengths won next time out at Brighton so the form certainly has substance. He is up another 4lb but he should still have more to come and this looks another good opportunity. Leuven Power won over 7f here on return but was entitled to do so being sent off long odds-on. He was turned over at Newmarket and the winner has let that form down since. Still looks the danger though. Be Lucky My Son best of the rest.

Following that four-length romp at Windsor ANDALEEP looks worth keeping on side in his current form. He has been running well all season since joining this yard, finishing in the top 3 on every run and winning twice. Even his runs in defeat have worked out well so if coping with this quick turnaround under a 5lb penalty he should take a lot of beating under Ben Curtis. Zumurud was back in the winners enclosure at Nottingham last month and wasn’t disgraced when third back there last time so if the cheekpieces help here he could be the danger under Danny Tudhope. With Mark Johnston going so well Dark Company is also worth a mention but he doesn’t always put it all in so isn’t one for maximum trust. Little Ted can pop up now and then but he failed to match market support when third of five at Ripon last time.
