Many of this field are struggling for recent form so the obvious selection in this race is last year’s winner Priscilla’s Wish (best priced at 11/8) who has been a model of consistency so far this season. The Phil McBride trained four-year-old has form figures of 22321 on turf in 2022 with her previous three runs all coming at Yarmouth.

Priscilla’s Wish finished 3rd over a mile here on soft ground in June before finishing a close 2nd when dropped back to 7f on her next start. She was only beaten ¾ length that day and that was the same margin that she won by on her next start over the same and distance. Mark Crehan, who claims 3lbs, rode her to victory that day and keeps the ride and she should prove hard to beat off only a 2lb higher mark.

Only six runners go to post for this 0-80 handicap and preference goes to the consistent Amor De Mi Vida (best priced at 10/3). The Archie Watson trained four-year-old has form figures of 321212 so far this year and she was a previous course and distance winner back in May 2021. Her victories this season have come at Yarmouth and Haydock off marks of 68 and 72 respectively with her making most of the running on both occasions.

Amor De Mi Vida is well drawn to attack once again from Stall 1 and it seems significant that connections now book Hollie Doyle for the ride having been beaten by a neck last time when ridden by a 7lb claimer. The handicapper has raised her 3lbs for that effort which is fair and I think she has a good chance of upsetting the favourite Glamorous Breeze.

The Saeed Bin Suroor trained Game Master (best priced at 3/1) has to bounce back from a below par effort last time at Leicester but I think he is worth backing on his handicap debut. The three-year-old gelding finished 4th, 3rd and 5th in novice/maiden races at Lingfield, Windsor and Catterick on his first three starts before slightly disappointing when finishing an eight length 4th at Leicester last time.

Game Master makes his handicap debut here off a mark of 76 which looks workable given his performances so far. He is fitted with a first time visor for this race which can hopefully bring about some improvement in him against some equally unexposed rivals.
