Oddschecker tips for every race at Tramore on Friday.
POPONG is given slight preference over Bacardys but Kieran Callaghan's 7lb claim on the latter certainly makes it an interesting race. Popong is a consistent sort over fences and arrives here on the back of runner-up berths in both the Connacht National at Roscommon and Midlands National in Kilbeggan. She will relish this ground. Bacardys is best in at the weights due to Callaghan's claim. He was well behind Popong in ninth at Kilbeggan but, prior to that, enjoyed himself in a smaller field when winning a beginners' chase at Clonmel. He was classy over hurdles and should be a tough opponent. The Little Yank is unexposed over fences and didn't run badly when a somewhat remote fourth in a Grade B handicap hurdle at the Galway Festival after being hampered at the third last.Prediction : 1st Popong 2nd Bacardys 3rd The Little Yank
CLUAN DARA landed a gamble under a canny ride on good ground at Limerick and could follow up off 6lb higher. He won this race last year off 2lb lower and should go well again. This race is likely to be run at a scorching pace with confirmed trailblazers Rudy Catrail and I Don't Get It part of the field. A horse that could come through from off the pace is Rule Of June under in-form Sean Flanagan. She has been in winning form in the point-to-point fields and returned to the track with a third place in a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Killarney last month. Walking The Walk came in third and fourth in staying assignments at Wexford and Limerick respectively which gives him claims.Prediction : 1st Cluan Dara 2nd Rule Of June 3rd Walking The Walk
DOYENNA showed improvement on her third start at Clonmel when keeping on for third, beaten by a length and a quarter. The runner-up in that race has since obliged in a maiden hurdle at this track, so Doyenna is entitled to be on the premises. Kieran Callaghan's 7lb claim is more than handy. Ingenious Stroke gets a tongue-strap and a hood after placed efforts in Wexford and Downpatrick albeit beaten a fair way in both races. The form has been franked in both contests, so he looks a major player. Wild Caprice was second over much further at this track last month. Course knowledge is always a benefit in Tramore. Simpatico looks best of the rest.Prediction : 1st Doyenna 2nd Ingenious Stroke 3rd Wild Caprice
NATURAL LOOK ran on strongly for third in a massive field at Cork and her run can be upgraded as she suffered serious interference at the third last. The horse behind her in fifth boosted the form when winning a Ballinrobe handicap hurdle by a wide margin on Monday. Daisy Dufresne got off the mark by a head in a Sligo maiden hurdle and then finished runner-up in a rated novice hurdle at Limerick. She is likely to be popular with punters as her case is persuasive. Y Fyn Duw A Fydd slipped on the bend in a Kilbeggan handicap hurdle before keeping on for fourth. That was a fair effort. Prediction : 1st Natural Look 2nd Daisy Dufresne 3rd Y Fyn Duw A Fydd
The complexion of this race will completely change if first reserve Historique Reconce gets a run. She didn't cut much ice in her native France, but made €65,000 at the sales last summer. Willie Mullins has a phenomenal record with his French recruits. If she doesn't get in, perhaps DOT COTTON can get a winning bracket. This Califet mare has come in fourth in her last couple of maiden hurdles and this slight step up in trip looks like it will suit. Her Wexford run was endorsed when the runner-up scored on her next start in Downpatrick. Beechroad Winnie can build upon a fourth place in Killarney. Prediction : 1st Dot Cotton 2nd Historique Reconce 3rd Beechroad Winnie
BEAR CLAWS ran well in second over a similar trip at this track at the start of July. He had a couple of subsequent winners in behind that day. The fact that his sole victory over flights came in a maiden hurdle at this venue a couple of summers ago shows that he puts his best foot forward here. Yulong Voice can be a bit hit or miss, but Limerick last month was definitely a going day as he took the honours by two and a quarter lengths. If he is in the same mood, he will take plenty of beating. Some Dove was fifth at Downpatrick on Sunday, but it is worth noting that she won a qualified riders' maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan in June. Prediction : 1st Bear Claws 2nd Yulong Voice 3rd Some Dove
SPACE TOURIST appeals on her first start for Willie Mullins. She has switched to him after finishing a clear third in a mares' maiden hurdle at Navan in March. Mullins should have a good angle on her ability as he trained the first two home in that race. He has trained the last couple of winners of this race. Champagnesocialist chased home more than decent sorts in a pair of bumpers in Ireland before taking the same runner-up berth in a bumper at Musselburgh in January. Her chance is respected. Princess Sophia has also been placed in three bumpers and could readily bounce back from a below-par run at Wexford last month.Prediction : 1st Space Tourist 2nd Champagnesocialist 3rd Princess Sophia
