It was good to see MYRIAD back to his best winning readily at Kempton last week. He ran on well and beat a horse in good form in the shape of Thunder Flash with the pair nicely clear. He first caught the eye going close at Epsom before blowing out at Ffos Las so putting a line through that he is looking progressive now. He is turned out quickly under a penalty and is expected to take all the beating here. Richard Hughes has hit a purple patch too with a 21% strike rate in the past fortnight. The danger looks to be Executive Pool who won at Brighton and then backed that up with a good second at Windsor. The winner has let that form down since though. Of the rest Boy George is certainly not underestimated either as he was just ridden too aggressively when disappointing at Epsom last time.

14:50 Catterick

With two wins from his last three starts RAIN CAP looks a good bet to go in again at Catterick on Monday. He loves this C&D and showed a good attitude to edge out Quercus over track and trip last time. He is only 2lb higher here and I expect the pair to battle this one out again. I loved the way he kept finding off the bridle and I’m confident he can confirm that form. Quercus has won over track and trip in the past and is feared again. He has finished second the last twice by small margins so continues to acquit himself well albeit in defeat. Sfumato is 1lb below his last winning mark and he likes this track as well so he is best of the rest if showing more here. The Grey Bay ran no sort of race when down the field at Thirsk but will at least strip fitter this afternoon so might run a better race with that under is belt.
