RUSSET GOLD recently contested a big field maiden at Goodwood and was not disgraced finishing five lengths behind the winner. He is a full-brother to Listed winner Saint Lawrence and Roger Varian's colt is entitled to improve on his third outing. Talha's dam was twice a winner at Group 3 level in Italy, so the son of Havana Grey seems an obvious threat, while Cinque Verde completes the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Russet Gold 2nd Talha 3rd Cinque Verde

A 4lb rise for his most recent success at Thirsk may not be enough to stop GLORY AND HONOUR recording a hat-trick. David O'Meara's charge had previously defied a 6lb rise from his penultimate victory at Catterick, but Wor Willie seems a big threat following an impressive display over C&D last month. My Little Queens wasn't disgraced in a stronger race at York last time and is respected at this level.
Prediction : 1st Glory And Honour 2nd Wor Willie 3rd My Little Queens

Symphony Perfect drops in grade having not been disgraced in a Group 3 at Goodwood last month, but GALE FORCE MAYA defied joint-top weight to secure victory in a York handicap on her most recent run. She kept on well for third in Group company on her penultimate outing, also at York, and is capable of giving another solid account up in class. Princess Shabnam has been knocking on the door of late and is another to consider.
Prediction : 1st Gale Force Maya 2nd Symphony Perfect 3rd Princess Shabnam

The first-time cheekpieces appear to be a good move for Sanitiser after running a strange race when second at Windsor last month and he could go well. However, IKHTIRAAQ rallied well to win at Yarmouth in June, when beating the rival that had finished ahead of Paul and Oliver Cole's gelding, and, with the potential of more to come, a 4lb rise shouldn't be enough to stop him from backing that performance up. Alooqaal won narrowly at Kempton on his first run for this yard and he isn't discounted either back up to a mile.
Prediction : 1st Ikhtiraaq 2nd Sanitiser 3rd Alooqaal

16:10 Pontefract

YAGOOD has been running with credit of late and, on his first run for a new yard, a chance is taken on him to add to his tally off top weight here. Grimsby Town is still lightly raced and is open to further progression in a first-time visor, while Gordons Aura can't be ruled out after a good second at Nottingham last time out.
Prediction : 1st Yagood 2nd Grimsby Town 3rd Gordons Aura

THREE START has shown plenty of promise this term and the son of Muhaarar can shed the maiden tag now stepping back in trip. The William Haggas-trained gelding gave a decent account when second at Sandown on his penultimate outing and gets the nod in an open contest. Majestic has been edging towards a first career win and rates the most immediate danger, while Positive Force can follow them home.
Prediction : 1st Three Start 2nd Majestic 3rd Positive Force

17:20 Pontefract

In this competitive contest marginal preference goes to LATE ARRIVAL, who steps into calmer waters after failing to fire at York last time out. The five-year-old recorded an emphatic win over C&D in June and he may be able to repeat that feat on this occasion. Woodlands Charm has been victorious on two of her last three outings and she demands the utmost respect, while Dream Together is another to consider.
Prediction : 1st Late Arrival 2nd Woodlands Charm 3rd Dream Together
