GYTO's Tuesday notebook double pays 10/1.
This is a good race with some in-form horses heading to post but I’m keen to side with the potential of GLAM DE VEGA for Roger Varian. This colt by Lope De Vega ran two encouraging races as a 2yo and took a nice step forward to win readily at Ripon on reappearance last month. He goes handicapping now off an opening mark of just 83 and that could prove to be lenient. He is back up in trip again and that should also play to his strengths given the way he stayed on last time. Wilkins also won well when last seen and is on an upward trajectory but he has already been gelded so perhaps his potential is capped somewhat. He should go well up 8lb from that. Empirestateofmind has a great attitude and while he is coming up against some unexposed types I still expect him to give his running.
The change in scenery seems to have done the world of good for COOPERATION as he has gone 2-2 since joining this yard. He did well to win at Nottingham at the start of the month and then impressed with how he made all at the same venue last week. That form has already been strongly franked since with the fourth So Grateful winning impressively at Southwell over the weekend. He is turned out quickly under a penalty but looks tough to oppose in his current form and I’m happy to keep him on side once more. Miss Bella Brand deserved to get her head back in front over C&D last time and she should remain competitive up just 5lb from that. Twilight Secret reacted well to first-time blinkers to win at Wolverhampton last time and he also has to be feared but hard to say if they will prove as effective this time around.
