14:25 York

Mark Johnston has won the Acomb for the last two years but surprisingly doesn’t saddle a runner this time around. Still some really nice colts lining up for this as you’d expect and perhaps none more so than LOCAL DYNASTY for Charlie Appleby. This son of Dubawi made a winning start despite showing clear signs of inexperience at Newmarket. He had to come wide to see daylight but as soon as he did he immediately started picking up and when he met the rising ground the penny really looked to drop. He crossed the line pretty much still on the bridle and looks to have a serious amount of ability. He is a half-brother to Yibir so could be smart. Mill Stream looks the danger having impressed to win on debut before bumping into a stablemate of the selection Noble Style last time. Chaldean also deserves a mention with further improvement to come.

19:20 Kempton

The improving KAATIBB looks well placed to follow up at Kempton on Wednesday. He has definitely taken his form up a notch recently bumping into a nice prospect in Glam De Vega at Ripon last month before showing a good attitude to open his account at Lingfield last time. He made virtually all on that occasion and had every opportunity to give it away but battled back bravely to fend off Raise The Roof. That filly is going the right way and the third Royal Aviation is also a very solid yardstick so the form has substance. Uzincso loves it here so has to be feared but if the selection improves again he might struggle to contain him. Arctician finally ran better having come down the weights when third here last week and with the step back up to a mile a good thing he might run a nice race as well. The rest look to have enough to prove on the balance.
