UK Horse Racing Tips: Newbury

Sassy Belle will give this another good go and shouldn't be far away, but PURPLE LOVE has some eye-catching entries and if she's strong in the market, this daughter of Wooton Bassett looks capable of winning on her debut for the Richard Hannon team. Mystic Pearl made a respectable start when sixth at Newmarket and she's likely to be sharper this time, so looks another who can get involved for the in-form William Haggas.

Not many of these can be ruled out with any confidence, but ROSE PRICK could be the most interesting as she's contested some good races so far and the form of her second last time at Salisbury has been franked with the winner following up, so she could be well treated on her first start in a nursery. Zara's Return arrives on the back of a close second over the extended mile at Nottingham 15 days ago and looks set for another bold bid, while Uffington also narrowly missed out latest and is another to consider.

James Tate's runners have been in good form of late and his NEXT CHAPTER is fancied to enhance that record here on her handicap debut. The well-bred daughter of Sharmadal got off the mark at the third time of asking at Redcar last month and with more improvement expected, she looks capable of following up. Bell Shot ran well over 6f last time when third at Windsor and will appreciate the extra furlong here, while Atomise is another in-form rival who can't be discounted.

Atrium likes to arrive fast and late but has been left with a bit too much to find on his last two starts and he could do a lot better here if he can be kept that little bit nearer to the early pace. He may provide the biggest challenge to the hat-trick seeking AUDITOR, a winner at Newmarket in June and July and stepping up to a mile here looking for further improvement. Dandy Maestro and Rebel Territory are others worthy of some consideration.

WAGGA WAGGA looks a typical Hughie Morrison improver, winning his last two starts at Pontefract over this trip and here over further. He does have another 8lb from the handicapper now but we may not have seen the best of the son of Australia just yet. Livalot steps into handicap company after a seven-length fourth at Southwell and he could go well for his in-form stable, though Windsor third Trojan Truth could be a bigger danger if he gets away with the rest of the field.

Youthful King may try to make all again here despite being caught late on when third over a furlong further at Goodwood, though he may suffer the same fate here if FRANTASTIC makes the most of the drop in class after his Sandown third. Slowly away that day and bumped twice up the straight, if he isn't as sluggish at the start then he may prove too good for these. Tartan Chief was unlucky in running when second at Windsor and is another for the shortlist.
