Runner-up on his last two starts, CLANSMAN seeks to go one better dropping in trip having been out-finished on his latest outing over 1m3f. He remains 4lb above his last winning turf mark, but is relatively unexposed and could make his presence felt on his Tapeta debut. Bunker Bay has to be of interest following a good second at Yarmouth over 1m in June, while Cianciana completes the shortlist.

It is hard to oppose SIMPLY SONDHEIM, who seeks his fifth consecutive win on his return to the all-weather. He is 9lb above his last winning mark on Polytrack, but is unbeaten in handicap company so far and it is hard to envisage anything getting past him. Chimed makes his handicap debut following a good second at Southwell last month, while Arch Moon makes his Tapeta debut and completes the shortlist.

NORTHBOUND was back to winning ways here recently with a ready success over the trip and, while that performance remains fresh in the memory, it would come as no surprise if he was able to double up off just 3lb higher. He is 1-2 over C&D and makes more appeal than Desert Land, who is well handicapped if taking to this track on debut for a new yard. Swinging Eddie also makes some appeal.

It is worth keeping an eye on the market as to the chances of Al Motasim on his debut for powerful connections. Preference is for experience, though, and ANIMATE has shown a good level of form in two starts so far, bumping into some smart types at both Newmarket and Kempton. He has less on his plate today and can strike, but keep an eye on New Endeavour, who is improving between runs.

EMERALD LADY was a very impressive winner of her latest outing over the extended 7f at Ffos Las and thus carries a 6lb penalty for that today. That doesn't appear to be out of reach for Karl Burke's three-year-old reach and Sam Feilden's 7lb claim can negate some of the burden. Crocodile Power is also likely to be on the scene, after a good second over 7f at Ayr, and he goes off the same mark today. Reclaim Victory completes the shortlist.

Bold Territories was a winner over 7f at Wolverhampton on his previous start, but having been raised 4lb for that half-length victory, he may be vulnerable to some better treated rivals. ENDERMAN gets the nod after a good second over 6f at Nottingham last time, where he was beaten by just three-quarters of a length. Off the same mark today, Paul Midgley's charge appears likely to offer another bold bid. Hoi An Beach won on his latest outing, but the 6lb penalty may be too much to carry.
