15:10 Curragh

There are some really nice types lining up for this and perhaps none more so than the unbeaten AESOP’S FABLES. This colt by No Nay Never is obviously bred to be pretty useful and made a perfect start winning readily at Navan back in April. He has been given plenty of time since to develop and mature and with Ryan Moore in the saddle I think he has solid claims of making it 2-2. The way he kept on in the closing stages on debut suggests he will love stepping up to 7f here. Aidan O’Brien also saddles Hans Andersen who created a big impression winning over C&D last time. I think he’ll chase the selection home to give the yard a 1-2 here. Proud And Regal is 2-2 for Donnacha O’Brien and also looks to have a bright future especially given that Leopardstown form has worked out well since.

17:20 York

Beaten just 3 lengths by New London at Newmarket PHANTOM FLIGHT looks a great bet to make it 3 wins from his last 4 at York on Saturday. He looked progressive winning at Redcar and then following up at Haydock. That was a very good run at 14/1 last time and up just 3lb if he improves again he should take a lot of beating here. Frankel colt Special Envoy obviously looks promising as well having won nicely at Windsor. This is definitely deeper company now but he has more to come as well so looks the danger. Spirit Dancer won over C&D 4 weeks ago and even up 4lb should run well again here. Possibly just lacks the potential of the front pair though having already been gelded. Caradoc is a very solid yardstick but he is on a lengthy losing run now and will need a fair bit of luck to win this you’d think.
