Turpin Gold showed promise when third at Uttoxeter last month on his second start over hurdles and he would have finished a lot closer barring a mistake two out. He may yet prove the biggest danger to POP THE CHAMPAGNE, unbeaten after three starts this year and looking capable of adding to those successes. Olly's Folly has plenty of placed form that suggests he could get involved, though point-to-point third Wrap Your Wings looks even more interesting on his hurdling debut.
Prediction : 1st Pop The Champagne 2nd Turpin Gold 3rd Wrap Your Wings

RAGAMUFFIN clearly likes it here with two wins and a third from the three starts, one of those over fences when battling back to get up over this C&D last month. He does have 4lb more from the handicapper here but would have won by further barring a mistake at the last and his jockey claims 7lb, although he was a little disappointing in a match race at Fontwell on Thursday. Lock's Corner looks a serious rival after his neck second at Worcester and may have more to offer on his second start after a wind operation, leaving the consistent Coal Stock to chase them home.
Prediction : 1st Ragamuffin 2nd Locks Corner 3rd Coal Stock

Litterale Ci won this race in 2018 off a mark 4lb higher under the same jockey and although this is her first start of the season, she could go well in this small field. VISION DES FLOS returns to hurdles after falling at Worcester over fences and is potentially well-handicapped off this mark, so he may prove too strong for Dandy Mag, whose third at Worcester looks good enough to suggest he could also have a say.
Prediction : 1st Vision Des Flos 2nd Dandy Mag 3rd Litterale Ci

The hat-trick seeking BATHIVA bolted up in emphatic style on his most recent run over this trip at Worcester and a 5lb raised mark for that does not look set to stop him here given the stable he represents. Mercian Prince has proven to be versatile, given he won on good ground last year and more recently on very soft ground this year, and he could make his presence felt on his return to chasing. Peterborough is another to note.
Prediction : 1st Bathiva 2nd Mercian Prince 3rd Peterborough

In a fairly open contest, marginal preference is for the Alex Hales-trained MARIA MAGDALENA. She has been fairly consistent in handicap company recently and a 1lb lower mark for her latest showing could see her sneak closer into contention. She is now rated 4lb below her last winning mark, but connections of Loved Out reach for cheekpieces on his return to timber and he also merits consideration. Faint Hope is another who could have a say in proceedings.
Prediction : 1st Maria Magdalena 2nd Loved Out 3rd Faint Hope

In what seems to be a competitive chase, marginal preference is for BYZANTINE EMPIRE. Fergal O'Brien's charge completed a double when scoring over 2m at Perth last month and he remains unexposed at this distance. Mortlach should not be underestimated in first-time cheekpieces following a better effort at Perth last Saturday and he can give the selection most to think about, ahead of Restandbethankful.
Prediction : 1st Byzantine Empire 2nd Hell Red 3rd Mortlach

Al Zaraqaan has made a pleasing start to his hurdling career, but finished a distant fourth at Worcester on his latest outing over 2m. Therefore, preference is for CAPTAIN SQUARE, who bolted up on his most recent run at Market Rasen, keeping on to win by 12 lengths over two miles and half a furlong. He must be respected on his handicap bow based on that win, while Tarseem is another to consider for a reputable stable.
Prediction : 1st Captain Square 2nd Al Zaraqaan 3rd Tarseem
