Grande Dame shouldn't be far away after her impressive win here last month, while Nizaaka steps up in class following a hat-trick in Newmarket handicaps and warrants respect.

Silver Knott left a lasting impression when scoring second time up at Kempton and might take another step forward, while Wahaaj is 2-2 and is taken to go well along with Lady Bullet, who gets weight from the boys and wasn't disgraced in the Albany. The form of Desert Hero's Haydock win took a boost when the second won next time, but the verdict is for DEFENCE OF FORT, as he was just so impressive when putting just shy of five lengths between himself and the runner-up on debut at Ascot.

ZAINALARAB arrives here seeking a hat-trick, after winning last time at Chester over the extended 7f by one and a quarter lengths. Roger Varian's charge is having his first crack in handicap company and this opening mark of 83 doesn't look beyond him. Global Esteem won over C&D last time out by a neck and, having been raised just 1lb for that success, he is likely to be on the premises. Al Rufaa heads the remainder.

As you may expect, this is a particularly competitive handicap and there will be plenty of connections thinking they're in with a good shout, none more so than Michael Buckley who is represented by PROTAGONIST. The five-year-old was a winner last time out at Doncaster and, having been raised just 1lb for that nose success, it appears likely that another bold bid is expected. The consistent Ajero is also likely to run his race, while Migdam could also feature.

AUNT VIOLET has been shaping as if a victory is just around the corner, especially last time out when she was beaten by a neck over 6f at Ascot. This looks like a nice opportunity for Ed Walker's two-year-old to get her head in front for the first time. Catch A Star represents Charlie Appleby and Godolphin and she isn't written off, while Queen Fleur is a daughter of Kingman and could be an interesting debutant.

The Toff ran on well into third over seven furlongs at Doncaster last time out and, with the stiff finish here, he may be the surprise package off 1lb higher. GULMARG looks as if he is ready for a mile after his Yarmouth success over this trip and is another who will be staying on up the hill close home. He may prove too strong in the finish for all of these. The rest appear to have stamina questions to answer, though Urban Sprawl might be the best of them.

Four Adaay is respected after her half-length success at Nottingham, but an added 3lb here may mean she has to settle for a place. CHIPSTEAD was beaten half a length when second at Windsor in a better race last time out, has a 2-2 record over this trip and should go well in this company. If Neptunian can get an easy time on the front end, he could also get involved.
