Leg 1 Selections: Safari Dream

SAFARI DREAM won on his handicap debut last time over this course and distance and he should run well once again off an 8lb higher mark. The Rod Millman trained colt finished a neck 2nd over this course and distance on his debut before finishing 3rd at Windsor on his next start. He finished midfield in the Super Sprint at Newbury before making a winning handicap debut last time off an opening mark of 74. That was an impressive 3 ½ length victory so an 8lb rise seems fair and he should run well once again over this course and distance.

Leg 2 Selections: Recon Mission

This looks a competitive 0-95 handicap and I am willing to take a chance on RECON MISSION at a big price. The Tony Carroll trained six-year-old has a consistent record over this course and distance with form figures of 4451 with that victory coming in July off a mark of 78. He showed plenty of early pace that day over 5f so it was a strange decision for connections to step him up in trip to 6f last time when he weakened late on at Brighton over a trip too far. He is back down to 5f here and should run well.

Leg 3 Selections: City of Kings

It is interesting that the market favours the chance of the Jack Mitchell ridden CITY OF KINGS over stablemate Tabaretta who is ridden by William Buick. The son of Kingman was well supported in the market when he was intended to make his debut earlier this month but he unshipped Jack Mitchell that day and preceded to trample over him before being withdrawn. He is now fitted with a first time hood for this race and he is expected to reward market confidence.

Leg 4 Selections: Andaleep, Pledge Of Honour

Two horses with good course and distance form in this race are ANDALEEP and PLEDGE OF HONOUR and I expect both to be involved in the finish of this race. Andaleep has form figures of 132211 since joining Daniel & Claire Kubler including a close 2nd behind Pledge Of Honour over this course and distance last month. Since then he has won impressively at both Windsor (four lengths) and Beverley (2 ¾ lengths) and looks worth keeping onside. Pledge Of Honour is another horse in good recent form (113211) and he brings into the race good Sandown form including a victory on his penultimate start here off a mark of 71. He has been raised 6lbs for his latest victory at Doncaster but he should run well once again.

Leg 5 Selections: Precisely

The John Butler trained PRECISELY has been in good form since returning from a 121 day break and her form links with Pledge Of Honour from the previous race. She defeated that rival by a length at Newbury in June before following up at Ffos Las on his next start under Harry Davies. The talented claimer retains the ride here and she should run well off only a 4lb higher mark.

Leg 6 Selections: Ikhtiraaq

The progressive three-year-old IKHTIRAAQ has won his previous two starts and despite both of those coming in small fields, he should run well here under a 6lb penalty. The gelding won off a mark of 79 at Yarmouth before following up by 2 ¾ lengths at Pontefract last time under Richard Kingscote. That victory only came a week ago so he runs with a 6lb penalty in this race but I expect this lightly raced gelding to complete the hat-trick.
