13:30 Worcester

Back over Jumps for both of Tuesday’s Notebooks and CARDBOARD GANGSTER catches the eye at Worcester. This son of Norse Dancer has won two of his last three now having stayed on gamely to prevail at Stratford last month. He almost certainly still has more to offer over fences and looks a standout in this so I’m quite surprised to see him as big as 3/1 at the time of writing.

Even his second to Serjeant Painter has worked out well since so his form stacks up. Minella Voucher continues to knock on the door but he doesn’t have much tactical speed so might just be found wanting again here by the selection. He should run well though given the lack of quality on show. Judge Earle likely best of the rest but he only ran last week so this is coming soo enough.

I’m keeping the faith with FAT SAM back over fences at Bangor on Tuesday. He was fairly progressive last season winning three times and has already struck twice this time around doing it impressively at Newton Abbot last month. I’m happy to forgive him that fourth at Worcester over hurdles and back over the larger obstacles I think he’ll take all the beating given this doesn’t have much strength in depth.

Northern Bound found himself back in the winners enclosure at Worcester and then could only finish fourth over hurdles at Worcester. He will be the main danger back in this sphere. Armattiekan was pulled up at Market Rasen last time so would need to bounce back to lay a glove on the two mentioned above and enough to prove on the balance of his form.
