13:00 Brighton

This looks a competitive 0-75 apprentice handicap but preference goes to STREET PARADE (best priced at 11/4) who has good course and distance form as well as the assistance of top apprentice Connor Planas. The Michael Attwater trained six-year-old has form figures of 44212 over this course and distance in his career with his victory coming in June off a mark of 60.

Street Parade finished 3rd at Sandown on his penultimate start off a mark of 62 before finishing a nose 2nd here earlier this month off a mark of 61. The handicapper has raised him 2lbs for that effort which is fair and he looks the one to beat in this race.

Street Parade - 1pt @ 11/4

16:20 Brighton

The Julia Feilden trained SPANISH MANE (best priced at 4/1) has a good record at Brighton and she can hopefully run well again at this venue. The seven-year-old has form figures of 131 at the track with all three runs coming in the previous couple of months. She won over a mile here off mark of 57 before finishing a close 3rd over 7f off a mark of 60. She won by a neck over this course and distance on her penultimate start off a mark of 60 before finishing a close 3rd at Yarmouth off a mark of 61.

The handicapper has left Spanish Mane unchanged off that mark which seems generous and she should prove hard to beat back at Brighton.

Spanish Mane - 1pt @ 4/1

18:40 Southwell

The Michael & David Easterby trained SO GRATEFUL (best priced at 13/8) won a better race here over 6f a week ago and he should prove hard to beat under a 5lb penalty. The four-year-old is undefeated in his two starts at Southwell since the change of surface with both victories coming over 6f. He won off a mark of 57 last month before winning by 1 ¾ lengths eight days ago off a mark of 63.

So Grateful runs here under a 5lb penalty but interestingly drops down from a Class 4 0-80 handicap into a Class 6 0-65 handicap and I expect him to prove hard to beat off top weight.

So Grateful - 1pt @ 13/8
