MANDARIN MONARCH disappointed on the Flat at Tramore, but is a nine-time winner who carries a light weight under his 7lb claimer. Successful over hurdles in March, he can be forgiven his recent Tramore disappointment having run two days previously and while yet to win at this trip, should stay the distance having won over 2m1f on the level in the past. Ardamir beat Politicise to win a similar race at Ballinrobe and the pair meet on identical terms. Ardamir has yet to win at this distance but has staying Flat form, while Politicise returned to form in that recent race and was a capable juvenile hurdler in 2020. Veteran My Manekineko was beaten long distances on his latest runs but showed good form earlier this year. Wicklow Flyer pulled up on her latest run but ran OK at Limerick in July.
Prediction : 1st Mandarin Monarch 2nd Ardamir 3rd Politicise

OCEAN OF MERCY was beaten long distances in the NH Flat championship races at Cheltenham and Punchestown, but has smart form. A nose runner-up on debut, the form of his subsequent Cheltenham placing is strong, with the winner and runner-up both winning at Listed level subsequently and the third horse a Grade 2. In addition, the sixth, seventh, eighth and 12th also won afterwards and he debuts over jumps in an ordinary maiden. Pale Blue Dot has plenty of experience and ran well at Ballinrobe, but is nonetheless a 14-race maiden. Jumping Susie, who runs in a first-time tongue-tie, fell at the first at Ballinrobe but had previously run well when second at Kilbeggan and has her place chance.
Prediction : 1st Ocean Of Mercy 2nd Pale Blue Dot 3rd Jumping Susie

JEREMYS FLAME hasn't run over hurdles since February 2020 but was Grade 1-placed in this sphere and ran well at Galway recently. A smart mare who is well suited by race conditions, she should have little difficulty reverting to hurdles and will take plenty of beating, despite conceding 4lb to her main rivals. Shannon Glory won an ordinary Killarney maiden hurdle easily last month and while dropping in distance isn't ideal, is progressive and could fill second place. Motown Maggie blundered away her chances at Downpatrick but is better judged on previously useful form. Churchtown Ruby won at Tramore in June but was well enough held subsequently, while Sula Warrior has more on her plate than when winning at Perth.
Prediction : 1st Jeremys Flame 2nd Shannon Glory 3rd Motown Maggie

ASK CHARLIE is experienced, in good form and makes his handicap hurdle debut from a rating which is 6lb below his chase figure, under a 5lb claimer. A winning point-to-pointer, he has run well in recent maiden hurdles and bumped into a subsequent winner at Downpatrick recently. Search For A Myth ran well at Cork but is an eight-race maiden who now runs in a first-time hood. Jetango was beaten by a subsequent winner at Tramore and should run well from the same rating. Park Hind, an 11-race maiden, has been running well in similar handicaps, while three-time winner Important Message is also in good form. Inforapenny met a little traffic trouble at Limerick and is consistent, while dual winner Serpolette is reasonably capable at this level. Admirable veteran Naturally Blond was beaten from his revised rating at Wexford.
Prediction : 1st Ask Charlie 2nd Search For A Myth 3rd Jetango

LIEUTENANT HIGHWAY is on a winning run and can bag another victory here. The Fame And Glory gelding seems to be going from strength to strength since opening his account at Clonmel in April and was impressive last time at Ballinrobe when powering clear for a wide-margin success. He got an 8lb hike for that victory but was good value for it and stepping up again in trip may bring further improvement. Aprils Joy has won around here before, on the Flat, and comes here off the back of a good run at Downpatrick. She looks the danger. Bentham and Loudest Whisper are other previous course winners who could be players at their best.
Prediction : 1st Lieutenant Highway 2nd Aprils Joy 3rd Loudest Whisper

GOLDEN SANDBANKS bids for a hat-trick here and should be able to grab another victory in this grade. Paul Flynn's charge beat He's Leading Me On down in Limerick on his penultimate start and that rival has advertised that form since with two wins. Last time out, Golden Sandbanks made a successful debut over fences at Tramore off a 1lb lower mark than this and he is now rated half a stone lower back over timber. Rossies Tara has been runner-up on her last two outings, including here early last month, and could be a danger. A Mere Bagatelle is another coming into the race in decent form and has to be in the mix.
Prediction : 1st Golden Sandbanks 2nd Rossies Tara 3rd A Mere Bagatelle

NOTNOWNED may be able to give in-form trainer John McConnell another winner here. The Notnowcato gelding ran a nice race on his 'track' debut when chasing home What Path at Galway, and that form was given a boost the other day when the third-placed horse Thecompanysergeant won at Kilbeggan. Duncreevan looks an obvious danger. He chased home Follow The Brave on his return from an absence at Ballinrobe last month and may come forward a bit from that run. Six Ace showed improvement when fourth on his second outing at Kilbeggan earlier in the month and may be able to get involved for the places now.
Prediction : 1st Notnowned 2nd Duncreevan 3rd Six Ace
