Calliope has been consistent over hurdles this summer and can't be discounted, while Oasis Prince is interesting on his return to this sphere after some decent performances on the level.

IMPERIAL ELYSIAN took a tired-looking fall two out at Worcester on his return, but he should strip fitter for that outing and this looks like a good opportunity for him to get his head back in front, with the Fergal O'Brien team in good form at present. Finisk River has been running really well and should give it another good go, while Presenting Pete could bounce back from a below-par effort at Worcester last week.

Tonto's Spirit will ensure this race is run at a good gallop and he is respected, but a fast pace will suit hold-up performer CAWTHORNE and he could prove tough to beat. The eight-year-old has impressively rattled off three wins in a row, including over hurdles at Market Rasen last time, and another bold bid looks assured. Dual course scorer First Revolution also has a squeak.

Irish import Allbetsoff is rated 2lb higher than LARUSSO and warrants plenty of respect on his stable debut for Mark Walford, but the latter arrives following three solid placed efforts, including when chasing home the 115-rated Onward Route at Uttoxeter last time, and he gets the nod. Largy Reach might prove next best, with Brian Hughes seemingly choosing him over stablemate Son Of Aliciaslady.

Cardboard Gangster is another who continues to go from strength to strength, but was also scheduled to appear at Worcester on Tuesday.

Given an ideal pipe-opener on the level at Newcastle last month, JOIE DE VIVRE should be all set for her return to hurdles, especially at a track where she won so convincingly last October. Reams Of Love may have disappointed at Stratford last time out, but he was a good winner there on his penultimate start and he can have a big say along with Tuff McCool, who returned to form at Perth. Others to note include Golden Town, Helvic Princess and Major Snugfit.
