I know Cobra Kai got the better of SELFISH BRIAN when the pair met at Ripon earlier in the season but the latter meets him off 12lb better terms now and has improved since. The way he stayed on strongly to win at Leicester last month was quite impressive for the grade and while he has been beaten twice since I think there have been excuses. He probably found the Beverley run coming too soon as he was very flat that day and didn’t really look to relish the step up to a mile and a quarter as I thought he might. Back down to a mile he was only beaten 3 lengths at Thirsk and with a good pace to aim at here if he builds on that 6/1 is definitely on the generous side. Connections reach for first-time cheekpieces which should help sharpen him up over this trip too and I can see him going close. Cobra Kai is the danger given the form he is in despite another 3lb rise. Bungley is another one in good order at present.
