In an open race, marginal preference is for MISTY DANCER, who is progressive and put in a career best when second at Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago. Dame Ethel Smyth produced an encouraging effort on her debut at Windsor earlier in the month and should improve for that experience, while similar comments apply to Seeola. Lady Shotgun is another with valid form claims, and Silent Monarch is a newcomer to note.

The manner in which Clive Cox's filly scored, however, suggests she could be up to the task and, in a trappy affair, she receives a tentative vote. New Heights ought to appreciate the drop in trip following a below-par effort over 1m2f at Windsor, and Tyler Saunders' 5lb claim should further aid her chances. Celtic Empress shouldn't be underestimated either.

The 10 stall may not help his cause, though, and he might have to follow STREET LIFE home. Disqualified after winning at Wolverhampton, he is due to compete off a 4lb higher mark after this so should have every chance from a good draw. Ellie Piper is another to consider with the chance of more improvement to come.
