William Haggas saddled the winner of this contest 12 months ago and he appears to have another excellent chance with CANTERBURY BELL this time around. The Ribchester filly has won three of her last four starts and could improve further for the application of first-time blinkers. Pink Carnation certainly wasn't disgraced in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and she is respected in this much easier contest, while Typical Woman and Smiling Jayne also hold claims.

As in the previous race, William Haggas looks to win this contest for the second year in a row and PRIDE OF PRIORY gives him a superb chance of doing just that. The Pivotal gelding has rattled off three wins in a row, with the most impressive of those victories coming at Ascot last time, and a further 6lb rise might not be enough to anchor him. Haliphon's latest form reads very well, with the second winning and finishing runner-up in the Ebor since, and he won't give up on the hat-trick without a fight, while Forza Orta and Dark Jedi are just a couple more with claims.

Having been narrowly denied by the reopposing Clan Jock on his penultimate start, RALPHY BOY TWO gained immediate compensation with a success of his own. With Ryan Sexton's 5lb claim taken into account, Ewan Whillans' charge finds himself on 1lb better terms than for that defeat, and he can reverse the form. Lochnaver won a similar event at this venue last month and she heads the remainder.
