Liffeydale Dreamer has also been in good heart and must feature prominently in calculations, along with Jony Max, who returns to hurdles and is able to compete from 5lb lower than his chase mark.

A C&D winner on his latest outing in this sphere, GLAN Y GORS looks more than capable of doubling the dose from a 4lb higher mark. Mark Weatherer's charge could still have more to offer over the larger obstacles having had just six starts, though he's likely to face stiff opposition from Getaway Jewel and Ardera Cross. Dicey Rielly hit the crossbar at Bangor and would hold every chance if producing a similar display on his fencing bow.

The form of JERRYSBACK's Summer Cup victory looks strong, with the second and third having won since, and the fact he struck here on his penultimate start only adds to his claims. The 10-year-old remains well handicapped on old form and is preferred to course specialist Rapid Flight, who comes here in search of a four-timer. The Vollan was caught out in a tactical race at Worcester last week and better can be expected.

The Churchill Lad won on the all-weather at Newcastle recently and has to be taken seriously, but Donald McCain has won two of the last three runnings of this race so knows the sort needed. He runs four-race Flat maiden ECLAIRANT LE MONDE following wind surgery, and in receipt of 7lb from all of her rivals, she could be the one. Golden Ticket travels over from Ireland and is another who has to be of some interest.

ANGE ENDORMI does have another 7lb from the handicapper after last month's triumph, but that came over C&D where he ran on to prevail by three lengths, with the third a long way adrift. As a six-year-old, he may have more to offer and could prove too strong for Bintheredonethat, who has his first run for new connections but may be better over further. Kilchreest Moon returns to hurdles off a lower mark and is worth a look.
