Mick Channon has won two of the last six runnings of this race and may well have a third if BONITA B keeps a straighter path. Last time out at Windsor, she lost a shoe and finished lame but still took second spot and, off the same mark, looks to have every chance. Silver Kitten may take them along from the start and might find this trip suits her better, though Phinow could be the bigger danger if he can transfer his recent all-weather form to the turf.
Prediction : 1st Bonita B 2nd Phinow 3rd Silver Kitten

Newcomers Speziato and Red N Blue Candy both look the part on paper but arrive as unknown quantities, and the market may be the best guide to their chances. Cobalt Blue raced far too freely at Newbury and could be a different proposition once he learns to settle, but CHARTWELL HOUSE may have his measure. He followed a neck second at Windsor with a seventh in a far better race at Goodwood when keeping on late, and with a first-time hood here and an added furlong, he appears to have an outstanding chance.
Prediction : 1st Chartwell House 2nd Cobalt Blue 3rd Red N Blue Candy

EVOCATIVE SPARK was not at his best last time out when sweating badly and failing to see out the mile at Newmarket, but he won a better race than this at Chester in June and is only 3lb higher here. He can get back to winning ways at the expense of Outrun The Storm, who is given an opportunity for swift redemption following Saturday's Beverley no-show. Bowman is a C&D winner but may have to settle for a place at these weights.
Prediction : 1st Evocative Spark 2nd Outrun The Storm 3rd Bowman

It looks best to forgive CAPTAIN HADDOCK's recent efforts, having not quite seen out 2m2f and 1m6f at Pontefract and Wolverhampton. Those efforts, however, mean that last year's winner competes from a 3lb lower mark, so he looks worth chancing in a competitive event. Saratoga Gold and Fast Steps are respected following victories, as is Thibault, who returns to this sphere having enjoyed a success over hurdles.
Prediction : 1st Captain Haddock 2nd Saratoga Gold 3rd Fast Steps

Top-weight WHITE WILLOW ran creditably in a 0-95 at Ayr earlier this month and she ought to find things easier down in class. Richard Fahey's filly has been progressive this season and can land this, though recent Brighton scorer Wisper will provide a stern challenge. Tartan Chief is capable of being involved at the business end, while handicap debutant Change Of Fortune is worth monitoring in the market.
Prediction : 1st White Willow 2nd Wisper 3rd Tartan Chief

An extremely competitive contest, but course form is always helpful so dual C&D winner INTERCESSOR might be the one to side with. John Gallagher's gelding has been in excellent form here of late and although raised a further 3lb for his latest victory, he could be difficult to pass once again. Dourado is another course winner entitled to respect, while Bristol Hill has shown a bit more since he had wind surgery and, down to a mark of 69, he is weighted to go well.
Prediction : 1st Intercessor 2nd Dourado 3rd Bristol Hill

Plenty with chances, but MARLAY PARK is only 1lb higher than when narrowly winning here last month and although he's since disappointed at Sandown, he is fancied to bounce back to form. G'daay was victorious at Yarmouth last time and a 2lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent another bold showing if he's in the same form. Mercurius Power won here last year and, returned to this venue, he's respected with David Probert taking the ride.
Prediction : 1st Marlay Park 2nd Gdaay 3rd Mercurius Power
