The way CASTAN won on nursery debut at Musselburgh last month was pretty impressive. He didn’t match that form when only third at Carlisle off a 6lb higher mark but I still think he is a horse ahead of his mark and if bouncing back could resume progress here. The form of both his last runs has worked out well and 3/1 looks a very fair price. Kodi Dancer was also below form when fourth at Carlisle behind the selection so she needs to bounce back as well but if she does she is the danger. Your Spirit remains a maiden but wasn’t disgraced when third at Pontefract so while she could go well on handicap debut I think she will still find a couple too good. Lukla is still lightly raced but on what we’ve seen so far he definitely needs more to mix it with these and is best watched for now at least.

This looks a great chance for WILLINGLY to complete the hat-trick. She made more a less all the running at Leicester last month holding on well and backed that up to win impressively at Ffos Las last time. The second Bama Lama is a decent yardstick so I think that was a good effort. She is up another 6lb but if in the same form will take a bit of beating under 7lb claimer Mark Winn who has rode her to victory the last twice. Fossos beat Bama Lama a head over C&D 8 days ago so looks the danger on collateral form. Obviously still leaves him with a bit to find though given that was a narrow margin of victory. Coronation Cottage has won over track and trip in the past and will also be a threat if managing to get the fractions right as she went too hard last time though she is down in class here too.
