13:50 Chepstow

The Christopher Mason trained JAX EDGE (best priced at 13/2) has been sent off big prices for her first three career starts but she is now interesting making her handicap debut off a mark of 57. The daughter of Cable Bay was only beaten 5 ½ lengths last time at Salisbury despite going off at 125/1 and suffering interference 2f out.

Gina Mangan has ridden her on all three of her career starts to date and retains the partnership and I think she is really interesting off an opening mark of 57 for a yard who are in good form currently.

Jax Edge - 0.5pts e/w @ 13/2

14:25 Chepstow

The Neil Mulholland trained QUARTER BLUE (best priced at 9/2) is off a career low mark of 46 here but she is interesting following a wind operation in first time cheekpieces. The four-year-old ran well to finish a close 3rd at Bath on her penultimate start over 5½f before finishing a two length 5th last time over this course and distance off a mark of 47 when fitted with a first time tongue tie.

Since that run Quarter Blue has had a wind operation and connections now fit first time cheekpieces as well as a tongue tie. She has been dropped 1lb by the handicapper for her latest effort down to a career low mark of 46 and I think she should be involved with up to five places on offer.

Quarter Blue - 0.5pts e/w @ 9/2

15:40 Ripon

MARKS CHOICE (best priced at 5/2) (NAP) is a six-time course winner at Ripon who saves his best for this track. The six-year-old ran a fantastic race in the Great St Wilfrid handicap on his stable debut for Adrian Keatley when finishing a close 3rd despite running from 10lbs out of the handicap. He finished a neck 2nd earlier this month at Hamilton off a mark of 75 and despite running here off a 6lb higher mark, the return to Ripon is significant.

Mark’s Choice still runs here off a 4lb lower mark than when contesting the Great St Wilfrid from out of the handicap and I expect him to prove extremely hard to beat with Ryan Sexton once again on board.

Marks Choice - 2pts @ 5/2
