The form of that race received a boost when the runner-up won at the Curragh and, given normal improvement, the son of Sea The Stars, who holds entries on Champions Weekend, including in the Group 1 National Stakes, can open his account. Subzero is an interesting newcomer for Ballydoyle. The Galileo colt is the first foal out of Different League, a smart juvenile who won the Albany Stakes and was second in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes. National Emblem showed early pace on debut at the Curragh back in June.

TOUCHING CLOUDS should be suited by this drop back in trip after appearing not to stay 10 furlongs at the Curragh. She made a pleasing debut here over a mile and may have been unsuited by the soft ground subsequently at the Galway Festival. There is little to choose between Toriangel and So Beautiful on running behind Secret Magician over 6f at the Curragh recently. So Beautiful was previously third to Spring Feeling and Smile Of Love over an extended seven at Tipperary, and that form has been working out well since. Inchiquin Maid may be suited by this drop down in trip after weakening in the closing stages over a mile here in the spring, while any market move for Lokada would be interesting.

BAND WIDTH gets the vote. The Andy Oliver-trained gelding won twice at Sligo earlier this year and appears on a competitive mark judged by handicap form since. He was unlucky in running at Limerick and is now fitted with a visor after again running well over a similar trip behind Earls at Roscommon. That winner gave the form a timely boost on Monday evening. Billy Lee has produced Helpmeout with a strong run on the outer in the straight to win twice over a mile at Leopardstown this year and it will be interesting to see how she fares reverting back to seven. Hypernova likes to force the pace and made all in a Fairyhouse maiden last time, although the handicapper reacted by putting him up 12lb. Marsa won twice at Dundalk last November and has dropped down the ratings after failing to progress this term.

GIRL CRUSH has been put in here on a low weight and looks the one to beat. The selection ran well under a much bigger burden when runner-up in a Ballinrobe claimer in June before going one better in a Roscommon maiden. She appears adaptable ground-wise and Siobhan Rutledge's 5lb claim is an added bonus. James McAuley has enjoyed great success in claimers over the past few years and is strongly represented by Prioritise and Sister Lola. The latter gained all bar one of her five wins last year at Dundalk but has yet to score over this trip, while Prioritise won on the all-weather for James Tate and made a promising start for current connections over C&D last month. Chicago Lightening has filled the runner-up spot on his latest two handicap starts over seven.

ROSE OF MALTA has an unenviable task being drawn wide in 17 but met trouble in-running at Leopardstown. She competes from the same mark as Leopardstown, when beaten five lengths, and while her draw is poor, today's rider claims 4lb and she remains a little unexposed. Cherub Rock, in 13, is a seven-race maiden but has useful handicap form. Her recent course run, over seven furlongs, was a good effort with the third-placed horse boosting the form by finishing second subsequently, and today's rival Barnhill Rose finishing fifth. Chimeric is a 23-race maiden who thrice finished second when beaten by narrow margins and while a reproduction of his latest course effort would give him every chance is drawn wide in 16. Shawaf ran well at Bellewstown but has won just once from 29 runs.

EASTERN RACER won his tenth race at Bellewstown recently and while a veteran, might defy his 7lb rise. Initially a sprinter and once rated 88, he is now well suited by this distance and might hold Bellewstown's fourth-placed The Bog Bank, while Harbanaker finished sixth. The Bog Bank is today 4lb better off with the selection and has solid place claims while Zaur disappointed on his latest run but was a course winner in July and now runs in a first-time visor. Phoenix Open is a dual winner who has been running well without winning this year.

INCHIQUIN STAR is a 12-race maiden whose rating has climbed from 61 to 74 without winning but continues to compete well. A reproduction of her latest runs would give her every chance and she has a useful draw in 7. Super Cub competes from the same rating as when third at the Curragh on Saturday but runs over this distance for the first time. Being a three year old, he could improve stepping up in distance but nonetheless meets proven types. Butterfly Island is another 12-race maiden but is well suited by a mile and good ground and has dropped to a winneable rating in recent times. Cleveleys is a dual winner who has been running well while Leabaland was well held on rain softened ground at Cork in May and has his first run since, drawn 16. Well Suited is a three-time winner who was narrowly beaten at Killarney but is 5lb higher.

THE VERY MAN is one of three Jessica Harrington runners and while not first-string, ran well in a recent maiden. A 138-rated hurdler, he missed the break on flat debut at Tramore but finished well, likes good ground and will relish today's extra distance. Stablemate Pahlavi improved when finishing third, despite missing the break badly, at Cork. His bumper form was ordinary and the Cork form is nothing outstanding but he is a sibling to five winners and can progress further. Hermine won an ordinary Kilbeggan bumper easily and while largely national hunt-bred, should also progress. Zaynudin is long absent but was withdrawn due to 'unsuitable ground' at Sligo in May, suggesting his layoff isn't quite as problematic. Douglas Dc might bump into pacier types while Summer Gale was third in a useful bumper last month. Raven Rue ran well in a recent flat maiden while belated debutante Shadow Analysis is out of a Galileo-sired winner whose half-brother won a Group 2.
