No Nay Never filly Kitai deserves plenty of respect having gone close on debut but the winner Charyn has been beaten since albeit only narrowly so there might just be a bit of value in opposing. I’m really keen on the chances of CENTREFOLD for Roger Varian. This filly by Showcasing was an expensive purchase and she was well backed on debut. She was awkward away though and then the action materialised away from her. She came with her run up the rail but didn’t really have anything to run down. Once the groups merged she was hampered up the rail by Love Affairs and Andrea Atzeni was easy on her after that to finish fourth. She will know a lot more now and I think that is a strong piece of form in the context of this race so 3/1 looks worth snapping up. Kitai is a threat obviously and debut winner Zouky also has to be noted but this won’t be easy under a penalty.

With 3 wins form his last 5 starts REBEL TERRITORY looks worth siding with at Ascot on Friday. He ran well on his sole visit to this track when third to Isla Kai as a 3yo and has progressed nicely since. He was strong at the finish to beat Ouzo at Sandown back in May and then freshened up was far from disgraced at Goodwood despite fading in the closing stages. He just took it up too soon that day and then the closers came late. He runs off the same mark here in what looks an easier contest and with Ryan Moore getting the leg up for the first time he should take a bit of beating. Greatgadian is talented but doesn’t always apply himself. That wasn’t a bad run when third to Jungle Cove here last time though so he is respected. Dubai Mirage likely best of the rest but he may well be in the handicappers grip judging by that C&D fifth behind Tempus when last seen in July.
