Sprint Cup Haydock 2022

As part of the latest episode of Racing Weekly, Rishi Persad set the scene for Saturday’s race by saying: “There are a number of good horses including last year's winner Emaraaty Ana (7/1) who bounced back to form last time, while you’ve got Minzaal (4/1) for the flying Owen Burrows team just shading favouritism for the race from Naval Crown (5/1) who won at Royal Ascot.”

Sprint Cup Haydock 2022 Tips

Co-host and top tipster Sam Turner spoke next to reveal his Sprint Cup betting shortlist. “It's got the potential to be a very good race. I can understand why Minzaal is favourite - his Maurice de Gheest form (2nd) was advertised royally with Highfield Princess backing up to win the Nunthorpe at York. Naval Crown too has a similar form line.

“But I do wonder if it will be quite as straight forward as that. I have a feeling last year's winner EMARAATY ANA will give a good account after a strong comeback effort at York in the Nunthorpe. I thought he finished strongly; he’s back over six and back to a terrain that he's very effective at. He's towards the top of my shortlist as we speak."

Persad, meanwhile, picked out value of his own at double digit odds. “I like ART POWER. He's run well in the race in the last two years; he was 4th two years ago and then last year he went off really hard in front under Silvestre de Sousa and I thought about a furlong and a half out he had a few of them in trouble before emptying out against some good horses. But he had a lot of speedy horses off the bridle a long way from home.

"He's hardly ever run a bad race, he's just such a consistent performer"

“He's only had one run this year; a good comeback run at York over seven (not his trip). He's still fresh but now that he's blown the cobwebs away, he'll go back to Haydock where he looks good value at that price. He's hardly ever run a bad race, he's just such a consistent performer. He's a cracking each way bet for me.”
