KITAI was a beaten favourite when narrowly denied on debut over C&D earlier this month and, with the benefit of that run under her belt. she is fancied to get off the mark for the in-form Charlie and Mark Johnston team. Zouky has to concede a 7lb penalty all round for her cosy Newbury win where she quickened up nicely and more improvement can be expected. Centrefold was a respectable fourth on debut, despite running green, and is sure to have learned plenty from that experience.

The William Haggas-trained KHANJAR is hard to oppose here having finished a fine third in a valuable Heritage Handicap at Newmarket in July. Although raised 1lb for that effort, the son of Kodiac remains unexposed in this company and he can regain the winning thread. Ghathanfar has been kept busy throughout the summer, but the six-year-old has not let his trainer down once in all those starts and another big run is likely. Ventura Express wasn't disgraced in the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon when last seen and has been dropped a handy 2lb in the meantime.

A winner over C&D this time last year, STREET LIFE looked to be good on terms with himself when scoring at Southwell on Monday and a 5lb penalty may not be able to prevent him from following up here. Amor De Mi Vida was not herself when well beaten at Salisbury last month, but a return to this track is a major plus as she looks to go two better than last year's renewal of this race. Eeh Bah Gum and Soul Seeker are others that arrive here in excellent form and the pair are entitled to go close.

The filly was narrowly denied at Thirsk on her handicap debut and arrives here off a 1lb higher mark. Emily Post did well in the circumstances to finish as close as she did when third at Beverley last time and merits the utmost respect. Independent Beauty ran a fine race when fourth over C&D on her return from a lengthy absence and is entitled to benefit from that outing.

Ed Walker has won this race three times in the past four years and looks to have a perfect candidate this time around in the shape of SHIBUYA SONG. She was last seen when denied by the narrowest of margins at Lingfield and has cheekpieces applied for the first time. Aiden Brookes seems to have found the key with the hat-trick seeking Desert Quest and they look an obvious threat. Although Night Sparkle has yet to get off the mark after five runs, she has progressed with each run and this longer trip may unlock further potential.
