It may be worth giving WOOLHAMPTON another chance to get off the mark as this appears to lack strength in depth and is certainly easier than some of her previous assignments. The debut run from Appointed One at Chelmsford in July was promising and he's sure to be wiser for the experience. The stiffer nature of this course counters dropping back to the minimum trip and Charlie Appleby's colt also merits consideration. Tephi showed the benefit of her debut experience when finishing a close second in a fillies' novice stakes on the all-weather at Lingfield a month ago. She showed good speed that day and is another expected to have more to offer.
Prediction : 1st Woolhampton 2nd Appointed One 3rd Tephi

The in-form MELODY KING showed he retains a willing attitude with a tenacious effort to win at Beverley 13 days ago and, from just a 4lb higher mark, he might be difficult to reel in again. The gelding is a previous C&D winner and acts well under the forecast ground conditions. Dream By Day also showed an appreciation for a soft surface when getting off the mark in a stylish manner at Yarmouth when he was last seen. He's swapped stables since but still merits serous consideration. As does Mr Beaufort, who also has scope for improvement and has undergone wind surgery since running below market expectations at Haydock in June. Firenze Rosa faces a stiff test on these terms but is another suited by cut in the ground and would be dangerous to underestimate.
Prediction : 1st Melody King 2nd Mr Beaufort 3rd Dream By Day

THERAPIST encountered a potentially smart filly on debut last month and, while she needs to take a step forward, the manner in which she breezed past the likes of Mildyjama en route to finishing second created a very favourable favourable impression. The daughter of Dark Angel is an interesting type to be introduced by her powerful connections at this time of year, while strong support for Fortis Regina is likely given her encouraging debut at Newmarket a fortnight ago. However, it is a slight concern that she races in a hood at such a young age and the fact she was slowly away and then met trouble in running suggests she's got a lot to learn. Kristal Klear has an entry in the Redcar Two Year Old Trophy, so also merits a betting check on her racecourse debut.
Prediction : 1st Therapist 2nd Fortis Regina 3rd Kristal Klear

It's very likely this will be run at a good gallop as Animate, Loyal Touch and THE PARENT all made every yard of the running when winning last time out. All three are obviously improving but it's the latter who is nominated as the one side with on this occasion. Richard Hannon's colt got the better of a Derby entrant at Goodwood last month and, given he's proven over a mile and has winning form with cut in the ground, he narrowly heads the shortlist. Animate holds an entry in the Group 1 Futurity Stakes and has to be feared after her win at Newcastle last month. Assuming she betters her previous run on turf, she is suggested as the one to pose the selection the most problems.
Prediction : 1st The Parent 2nd Animate 3rd Loyal Touch

Percy's Lad arrives in good form after making all at Chester, but he had a good draw that day and might find life tougher with a 4lb rise. It may be worth chancing YOUNG FIRE at likely longer odds given his record in the forecast testing conditions, with the handicapper cutting him some slack with a 3lb drop since last running on the turf. Tomfre is another who has dropped to a dangerous mark, but does need to put his last effort behind him, so Marshal Dan looks a more solid option given his latest second over a trip short of his best.
Prediction : 1st Young Fire 2nd Marshal Dan 3rd Tomfre

Another chance is given to DREAMS OF THUNDER, who although disappointing on her return from a break, she had previously looked progressive and shaped like this step up in trip would unlock some improvement. Canoodled looks next best now returned to this distance, especially if the forecast rain arrives, and she is a consistent sort in the main. Fashion Love could do no more than win at Kempton last time and may well be better than her opening mark 73, but she also needs to prove she is as effective now racing on turf.
Prediction : 1st Dreams Of Thunder 2nd Canoodled 3rd Fashion Love

More is needed from Mustazeed after being hit with a 5lb rise for his success when last seen 11 months ago, which isn't insurmountable in the forecast testing conditions. However, VEE SIGHT looks a more solid proposition after a good third over C&D here last month, more so given the wide draw, and looks versatile with regards to ground conditions. Derry Lad is likely to be a big threat if running following a scheduled engagement at Epsom on Thursday, while we might see an improved run from Secret Box after his return from a layoff here last month.
Prediction : 1st Vee Sight 2nd Derry Lad 3rd Secret Box
