Mums Tipple looks more than capable of producing another bold bid, having been narrowly denied at Ascot last Saturday. Others to note are Able Kane and Tanmawwy.

It's very hard to get away from THE PLATINUM QUEEN, who ran such a fine race in defeat behind Highfield Princess in the Group 1 Nunthorpe three weeks ago. Granted she was receiving plenty of weight on that occasion, but now down in class and back against her own age group she's entitled to take all the beating. Trillium was an impressive winner of the Molecomb when last seen and appears to have been kept fresh since with this race in mind. Crispy Cat has been kept busy this season and should give another good account of himself here.

Bergerac arrives in search of a hat-trick of victories having landed a big prize at York's Ebor meeting with several of his rivals taking him on again, including Makanah, who caught the eye back in fifth. The pair are likely to enter calculations, but the vote goes to BURNING CASH. He tends to save his best for Town Moor, having won a brace of handicaps here earlier in the summer, and, in a contest consisting of plenty of pace, his style of racing is likely to prove beneficial.

Garrus makes his return to these shores after running well in France and, having finished a head behind subsequent Sprint Cup winner Minzaal when last seen, he commands respect, while Cheveley Park will be hoping Sacred can return to form.

After a couple of decisive victories, this year's St Leger seems to revolve around Godolphin's exciting colt NEW LONDON. Charlie Appleby's charge shaped as if this step up to the extended 1m6f would squeeze out even more improvement when last seen in the Gordon Stakes over 1m4f at Goodwood. Should he not fire, Eldar Eldarov is likely to be the one to pick up the pieces, given he's never been beaten on these shores, while Hoo Ya Mal could also be in the mix.
