Steve Ryder is back with three tips from today's action.
13:50 Brighton
The Tony Carroll trained RED ALERT (best priced at 7/2) has a good record at Brighton and he should hold strong claims of completing a course hat-trick despite a 4lb penalty. The eight-year-old won over this course and distance in August off a mark of 57 when re-fitted with cheekpieces where he won well by two lengths at the finish.
The handicapper raised the gelding 4lbs for that victory where he won over 7f by ½ length under Hollie Doyle beating the re-opposing Big Bard. Red Alert runs here under a 4lb penalty but connections have booked Mollie Phillips to claim 5lbs which will help and he should prove hard to beat in his hat-trick bid.

The Sir Mark Prescott trained ALDABRA (best priced at 3/1) should have won on her handicap debut at Wolverhampton last time and she should be able to get off the mark in this race off only a 3lb higher mark. The well bred three-year-old was sent off 40/1, 66/1 and 200/1 for her first three career starts with handicaps in mind before returning after 310 days off the track to make her handicap debut at Wolverhampton.
Connections stepped her up in trip from 7f to 1m4f and also fitted her with first time blinkers and she looked to have the race won when bounding to a three length lead rounding the turn. In hindsight Liam Keniry went too soon and Red Bond got back up to win but it was a much improved effort from the filly. Aldabra drops in trip slightly to 1m2f in this race and hopefully 7lb claimer Muhammad Adeel came record his first victory of his riding career.
15:10 Worcester
The Nicky Henderson stable have returned in good form with both of their runners winning in the last two weeks and I am hoping to see an improved effort from KING OTTOKAR (best priced at 11/4) in this race. The six-year-old was a high class flat horse who was once rated 106 for Charlie Fellowes but he made a low key hurdling debut for Nicky Henderson when 8th at Newbury in February.
King Ottokar jumped poorly that day on his first start over hurdles but I am sure that the stable will have worked on that during his 212 days off the track and this race is much easier than the race he contested in February.
